Does teeth whitening hurt?
Most patients experience little to no discomfort. Some may feel mild temporary sensitivity during or after treatment, which usually settles quickly.
Whitening works best on natural teeth with surface or enamel stains. It may not be as effective on heavily discoloured teeth or certain types of staining. Your dentist will assess your teeth during consultation.
Whitening is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 18, or those with severe gum disease or tooth decay. A consultation will confirm if you are a suitable candidate.
The gel releases oxygen to break down stains deep within the enamel, gradually lightening the colour of your teeth without damaging the tooth surface.
Before treatment begins, your current tooth shade is recorded. This allows us to compare and show you exactly how many shades whiter your teeth have become after whitening.
Avoid stain-causing foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine, and coloured sauces for at least 48 hours after treatment to protect and maintain your results.
